About Mindful Bump

I'm Eleanor - a practising midwife, antenatal educator, mum and founder of Mindful Bump.

Mindful Bump grew from both my experience supporting families as a midwife and my own journey into motherhood, bringing together the things I believe matter most as you prepare to become a parent: good information, honest conversations, practical preparation and people you can trust.

Antenatal classes in Somerset

Meet Eleanor

I’m Eleanor - a mother, midwife, and antenatal educator.
After several years working as a midwife in a busy London hospital, I’ve recently moved back to Somerset, where I grew up, to raise my daughter closer to family and community.

Over the past six years, I’ve supported women and families across all areas of maternity care - from antenatal clinics and postnatal wards to labour wards, obstetric theatres, birth centres, and home births. Most recently, I’ve been part of a small team offering continuity of care, supporting women from their first appointment right through to the weeks after birth. Witnessing the difference that continuity, trust, and education can make to a family’s experience has been the greatest privilege of my career.

Sadly, within the current maternity system, many families will rarely see the same midwife twice - meaning that this trusted, consistent care is often hard to come by. Through Mindful Bump, my aim is to bring that same sense of continuity and connection to families in a setting that allows for deeper learning, confidence, and genuine preparation.

Whether you’re planning a home birth, a labour ward delivery, or an elective caesarean, I’ll support you with warmth, evidence-based information, and respect for your individual choices. I believe that every family deserves to feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in their journey - never just “taken along for the ride.”

I teach with empathy, honesty, and openness - creating space for real conversations, practical learning, and a sense of calm confidence as you prepare to meet your baby. More than just your educator, I’ll be a familiar, trusted face throughout your pregnancy and beyond.

Why I created Mindful Bump

I wanted to create the kind of antenatal education I'd want for my own friends and family.

Expert and evidence-based, without feeling clinical. Honest about birth without making it frightening. Preparing you for the postnatal period as well as labour. And personal enough that you feel comfortable asking the questions you might otherwise keep to yourself.

Mindful Bump brings some of the continuity I've valued so much in midwifery into antenatal education. You'll learn with the same practising midwife throughout, I'll get to know you and your birth partner, and you'll have the time and space to explore what matters to you.

My Approach

My approach blends professional expertise with human connection.
I believe that birth education should be:

Evidence-based

Grounded in up-to-date, research-led information that aligns with national guidance.

Empowering

Focused on helping you understand your options and feel confident making informed choices.

Inclusive

Every birth and family setup is unique. I welcome and support all parents, solo parents, same-sex couples, blended families, and everything in between, always without bias or judgment.

Family-centred

Pregnancy and birth are shared experiences. Partners play a vital role, and my courses give them practical tools, emotional confidence, and clear ways to support both you and your baby.

Connected

Continuity is at the heart of what I do. I’ll be there from the start of your course to weeks after your baby’s arrival, offering consistency, familiarity, and reassurance.

At Mindful Bump, you’ll find a calm, supportive space to learn, ask questions, and connect with others walking the same path. You’ll leave with knowledge, confidence, and friendships that last well beyond birth.

Mindful Bump is designed to feel like continuity of care - something many parents don’t experience in the NHS. You learn with the same supportive midwife throughout the whole course, with optional WhatsApp support after birth and free access to the Breastfeeding Café.

Big antenatal franchises give you the course. Mindful Bump gives you the course and the relationship.

Your postnatal questions aren’t directed into a generic inbox - they’re held by the same person who taught you, who remembers you, and who genuinely cares about your experience
