Antenatal education that fits around your life…
A comprehensive, live antenatal course - without having to rearrange your life to get there.
Life already feels busy
Work, appointments, pregnancy, life admin… sometimes the last thing you want is another evening rushing out of the door.
You want to learn from home
Get comfortable, grab some dinner or a cup of tea and join from your sofa - no travel required.
Getting there together is tricky
Different working hours, long commutes or busy schedules can make attending an in-person course together difficult.

If you've already got little ones at home, getting out to evening classes isn't always easy.
You don't live near the course you want
Whether you're elsewhere in the UK, somewhere rural or simply nowhere near Bath, location doesn't have to limit your options.
You're living abroad
Want UK midwife-led antenatal education while living overseas? You can join Mindful Bump from wherever you are.
Everything you need to feel prepared.
More than just four Zoom calls. For £100 Your Mindful Bump course combines live midwife-led education with ongoing resources and support throughout your course.

YOUR BIRTH PARTNER IS INCLUDED

What we’ll cover:
-
Birth preparation · Physiology · Stages of labour · Place of birth · Coping techniques
Understand what actually happens during labour and birth, how to recognise the different stages and how your environment, hormones and birth place can influence your experience.
We'll explore your options for where to give birth and spend plenty of time building your practical birth toolkit - including breathing, movement, positioning, massage, water, TENS and other non-medical ways to work with labour. Birth partners will learn practical ways to support you too
-
Medical pain relief · Monitoring · Assisted birth · Caesarean birth · Birth rights · Perineal tears
We'll take an honest, evidence-based look at the medical side of birth so that interventions feel less unfamiliar if they become part of your experience.
We'll cover your medical pain relief options, fetal monitoring, assisted birth and Caesarean birth (planned and unplanned), alongside perineal tears, episiotomy and ways to prepare your perineum for birth. Most importantly, we'll explore informed consent, your birth rights and practical tools for making decisions - helping you feel involved in your care however birth unfolds.
-
The postnatal ward · Going home · Physical recovery · Emotional wellbeing · Practical baby care (theory)
What actually happens once your baby is here?
We'll talk through those first hours and days after birth, what to expect on the postnatal ward and preparing to go home, before getting honest about physical and emotional recovery - from bleeding, stitches and Caesarean recovery to baby blues, postnatal mental health and looking after yourself while caring for a newborn.
We'll also cover the theory of practical baby care, including nappies, bathing and dressing, and talk about crying, newborn behaviour, preparing your home and what you actually need for those early weeks.
-
Breastfeeding · Formula feeding · Newborn sleep · Babywearing · Matrescence
Our final core session focuses on some of the biggest parts of everyday life with your new baby.
We'll explore feeding without judgement - including breastfeeding, expressing and formula feeding - with preparation for getting feeding off to the best possible start and understanding how to tell whether your baby is getting enough milk.
We'll also demystify newborn sleep, including what's biologically normal, safe sleep and realistic expectations for those early weeks, as well as exploring babywearing and how it can support life with a newborn.
And we'll talk honestly about matrescence and the transition into parenthood - the emotional, physical and identity shift that happens alongside learning how to care for your baby.
Considering NCT classes in Bath?
If you're exploring antenatal classes in Bath, you may be wondering how Mindful Bump compares with NCT.
Both offer the chance to prepare for birth and meet other local parents, but the course experience, what's included and the approach to support can be different.
We've put together an honest, straightforward comparison to help you decide which antenatal course feels right for you.
